Possumblog

Not in the clamor of the crowded street, not in the shouts and plaudits of the throng, but in ourselves, are triumph and defeat.--Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

REDIRECT ALERT! (Scroll down past this mess if you're trying to read an archived post. Thanks. No, really, thanks.)

Due to my inability to control my temper and complacently accept continued silliness with not-quite-as-reliable-as-it-ought-to-be Blogger/Blogspot, your beloved Possumblog will now waddle across the Information Dirt Road and park its prehensile tail at http://possumblog.mu.nu.

This site will remain in place as a backup in case Munuvia gets hit by a bus or something, but I don't think they have as much trouble with this as some places do. ::cough::blogspot::cough:: So click here and adjust your links. I apologize for the inconvenience, but it's one of those things.

Quite enough silliness for one week.

It's getting close to time to go. I predict a long weekend.

Tonight, I have to swing by and pick up the kids from Grandmom's and head off across the county so Middle Girl can be dropped off in the Food World parking lot in Moody. She's spending the night with one of her friends from church who's having a birthday/spend the night/swim party. Back to the house then, and start on laundry while waiting for Oldest and Wife to get home. Tonight's the big Jamboree--a convocation of local football teams from across the area who get together and scrimmage for a bit against each other. Trussville doesn't start until 8, but since Ashley is in the band, she has to be back up at the school at 5:30.

And stay until the whole thing is over with.

And Reba will be working the concession stand. Which, despite the effort involved, she will enjoy because she is the more garrulous of us. For the other games we'll probably all go, but trying to ride herd on Boy and Tiny Terror for four hours while sitting on hard bleachers is something I'd rather not attempt.

Saturday, I have really, REALLY, HONEST TO GOODNESS got to get out and cut the grass. It's been three or four weeks now--I keep putting it off, and right now it's raining outside, but it's got to be done or I'm going to get a call from some anonymous pecksniff about bringing everyone's property values down. So, that needs doing. And need to edge it, too. Everyone else's has been clipped with laserlike precision, and ours has the wooly edges one would usually associate with an Old English sheepdog.

Sunday, there will be church, and in among all this will probably be a few more hours of Olympic-watching.

SO, all of you go have yourselves a wonderful weekend, and then come back in here Monday and we'll see what we did!
