Possumblog

Not in the clamor of the crowded street, not in the shouts and plaudits of the throng, but in ourselves, are triumph and defeat.--Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

REDIRECT ALERT! (Scroll down past this mess if you're trying to read an archived post. Thanks. No, really, thanks.)

Due to my inability to control my temper and complacently accept continued silliness with not-quite-as-reliable-as-it-ought-to-be Blogger/Blogspot, your beloved Possumblog will now waddle across the Information Dirt Road and park its prehensile tail at http://possumblog.mu.nu.

This site will remain in place as a backup in case Munuvia gets hit by a bus or something, but I don't think they have as much trouble with this as some places do. ::cough::blogspot::cough:: So click here and adjust your links. I apologize for the inconvenience, but it's one of those things.

Merciless Teasing of Journalists!

Do you know why I love NBC13's Wendy Garner? Is it her calm professionalism? Her wholesome attractiveness? The fact that she sent me an autographed photo and an NBC coffee mug? The fact that she is a fellow Auburn grad?

Well, yes, all that, but most importantly was this morning's segment on belly dancing! WOO HOO! And, of course, "Rrowwl!" And let me just say, Ken Lass looks pretty hot in a beaded waist wrap, too!

In all seriousness, I do have to give kudos to NBC13 for managing to produce a local show that is worth watching every morning (and not just for the occasional foray into hip-shimmying, although that is certainly a nice waker-upper in its own right)--but they do a good job with the news, and with a good mix of local, national, and international stories. Obviously, as with all television news, there is some filler that's not quite as timely, but that's common even for network news shows, not just local affiliates. My only recommendation is that they go the next step and set up a separate webpage just for the morning show, instead of their current setup that's just a link tab off of their main page.

Wait--there's not enough merciless teasing! I'm gonna have to work on that some more!
