Possumblog

Not in the clamor of the crowded street, not in the shouts and plaudits of the throng, but in ourselves, are triumph and defeat.--Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

REDIRECT ALERT! (Scroll down past this mess if you're trying to read an archived post. Thanks. No, really, thanks.)

Due to my inability to control my temper and complacently accept continued silliness with not-quite-as-reliable-as-it-ought-to-be Blogger/Blogspot, your beloved Possumblog will now waddle across the Information Dirt Road and park its prehensile tail at http://possumblog.mu.nu.

This site will remain in place as a backup in case Munuvia gets hit by a bus or something, but I don't think they have as much trouble with this as some places do. ::cough::blogspot::cough:: So click here and adjust your links. I apologize for the inconvenience, but it's one of those things.

Must be some kind of omen or somethin'.

Went at lunchtime to go to the bank, and swung by Reba's former place of employ to pick up her final paycheck. Unbeknownst to me, they had mailed it to her yesterday. Actually, it was unbeknownst to Reba as well, because she had taken the effort to call the payroll coordinator and tell her not to mail it, because I would be coming by today to pick it up. ::sigh:: And they wonder why they lost their contract.

ANYway, as I was walking out, I noticed a piece of paper in the gutter, and being the inquisitive, yet weak-minded, marsupial I claim to be, I bent down to pick it up. How very odd--a Trivial Pursuit card. Boy, you can find all sorts of stuff in the gutter!

Given the fortuitous and serendipitous nature of my find, I see this as some sort of sign, and that I must play the card Fate has dealt me.

SO, here goes:

G--What country surrounds San Marino, the world's smallest republic?

E--Who collected the 1973 best supporting actress Oscar at age 10?

H--Where were Omaha, Juno, and Gold beaches?

AL--What detective could distinguish between 140 forms of tobacco ash?

SN--Who wrote Elementary Seismology in 1958?

SL--What do you call a Poker hand including the black aces and eights?

First person to answer all six questions correctly in the comments below will win a fabulous prize!

Now then, I have to drive across town to pick up Oldest, who is feigning great illness at school. I will be back here after while, or I might just go home for the rest of the day.
