Possumblog

Not in the clamor of the crowded street, not in the shouts and plaudits of the throng, but in ourselves, are triumph and defeat.--Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

REDIRECT ALERT! (Scroll down past this mess if you're trying to read an archived post. Thanks. No, really, thanks.)

Due to my inability to control my temper and complacently accept continued silliness with not-quite-as-reliable-as-it-ought-to-be Blogger/Blogspot, your beloved Possumblog will now waddle across the Information Dirt Road and park its prehensile tail at http://possumblog.mu.nu.

This site will remain in place as a backup in case Munuvia gets hit by a bus or something, but I don't think they have as much trouble with this as some places do. ::cough::blogspot::cough:: So click here and adjust your links. I apologize for the inconvenience, but it's one of those things.

More Crushing of Freedoms in Ashcroft's America

Former Legislator Charged With Indecent Exposure

Jones Did Nothing Wrong, According To Statement

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. -- Former state Rep. Patrick Jones was charged with indecent exposure and harassment after police allegedly found him naked with a half-dressed woman in a parked truck.

“You know, outside the window, we couldn't really figure out what they were doing,” said Yolanda Denson, a witness to Jones’ arrest. “We just saw movement in the truck.”

According to Huntsville police reports, officers responded late Monday night to a call from a resident about a suspicious vehicle near Johnson High School.

Police found 47-year-old Jones and the woman, 30-year-old Stephanie Ann Anderson, of Huntsville, both intoxicated in the front passenger seat and in a compromising position.

“The police come, shine the bright lights. They're in the car having, you know, some kind of sexual act right in front of my house where my 7-year-old and 14-year-old are looking out the window,” said Denson.

In a statement released by the former representative’s office Tuesday, Jones said he did nothing wrong and plans to fight the charges in court.

Jones, a Democrat, served one term in the House and was defeated in the 2002 Democratic Primary by current Democratic Rep. Randy Hinshaw, also of Huntsville.

Man, what is this country coming to when two consenting adults can't get smashed and have an exploratory anatomy class in the front seat of a pickup truck parked in front of a stranger's house!?

FIGHT THE POWER, Pat!
